Perfecting our user experience with Transfer

Here at numa, we believe that user experience is paramount to the success of our protocol. And while our team is very well-versed in this area, we are always looking for even better capabilities. So, as part of our efforts to create the best experience possible, we sought out experts in the field to make the numa protocol as seamless as possible. This brought us to Transfer.

What is Transfer?

Transfer aggregates popular bridges and DEXs across layer-2s to provide seamless liquidity across Ethereum rollups. The rollup-centric future for Ethereum isn’t coming: it’s already here. Activity on Ethereum rollups has officially surpassed activity on layer-1, signifying that the migration to rollups has commenced.

However, increases in Ethereum scaling technologies add additional complexity around user-experiences, in particular around how to actually transfer funds from the Layer-1 to the rollups.

Users have to choose either a native bridge, in which their tokens are locked up for 7 days upon movement from Layer-1 to Layer-2, or navigate the various liquidity networks, in which prices and chains supported are constantly fluctuating.

That’s where Transfer comes in. Transfer has built a powerful API and SDK around the concept of Bridge and DEX liquidity aggregation (think 1inch for Layer-2 Bridges and DEXs). Now, both you and your user will never have to worry about which bridge or DEX to choose or recommend: Transfer does that automatically for you, comparing all different Bridges and DEXs, finding you the cheapest and fastest route.

How will Transfer integrate with numa?

We see our integration with Transfer helping in two ways:

  1. Allowing users to purchase $NUMA from any supported chain and with any coin: e.g., users will be able to purchase $NUMA (an Arbitrum ERC-20) by using USDC from the Ethereum main net.

  2. Users will be able to mint nu money from any supported chain and with any coin: e.g., users will be able to mint $nuBTC on Arbitrum with ETH from the Ethereum main net.

The team at Transfer is going to help us build an interface that provides for these transactions directly on our website. In the first instance, users will be able to click a button to buy $NUMA and open an interface to connect any supported blockchain and use any token to purchase $NUMA—all in one transaction. Say goodbye to bridging and swapping on other sites!

In the second instance, users will be able to click a button to open our dApp and open an interface to mint nu money from any supported blockchain and use any token—all in one transaction. This will make our user experience as easy and seamless as possible.
